Burger Buns with Chia Seeds

Ingredients for 4 large burger buns:

300 g Flour

2 Teaspoons dry yeast

1 Teaspoon salt

20 g sugar

150 ml Soy milk

45 g Margarine

1 Tablespoon chia seeds

3 Tablespoons water

Total time: 1 hour (including resting time for the dough)

Combine the chia seeds and 3 tablespoons of water in a smal bowl, stir and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, yeast and sugar and mix well.

Heat the soy milk and margarine in a smal souce pan on low heat until the margarine has melted. Pour into the flour mix and combine using a handheld mixer. Add the chia seeds and water and continue mixing for 5 minutes. Then tip the dough unto a flat, clean surface and knead for further 5 minutes. Divide the dough into four parts, shape into balls and then slightly flatten them. Slightly grease a large container with oil, place the buns inside with enough space around each one so that they can double their size, cover and leave to proof in a warm location for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 175° Celcius (350° Fahrenheit). Place the buns on a sheet of baking paper and bake for about 20 minutes.
